E-Commerce Email Templates Designed to Convert
Design principles for e-commerce email templates that balance brand storytelling with conversion optimization across every campaign type.

The best e-commerce email templates are invisible. Subscribers do not notice them because the design serves the content. Achieving this requires a systematic approach prioritizing readability and conversion.
Follow a proven hierarchy: recognizable header, hero section with primary CTA, body with supporting content, and footer with trust signals. Each section has a defined purpose.
“Product grids use two columns on desktop collapsing to single-column on mobile. Each card includes image, name, price, and CTA. Feature three to six products maximum.
The CTA button is the most important element. At least 60px tall, contrasting color, action-oriented text. Appear at least twice: in the hero and near the bottom.
Test every template across the top 20 email clients. Use inline CSS and 600px max width. Never use image-based text. A template rendering everywhere outperforms one working on some clients.
