Trial-conversion timing is everything, so the brief asked for urgency without anxiety. We built a dark, modern interface aesthetic in Space Grotesk with a glowing dashboard hero and an email-safe countdown rendered as static day/hour/minute digits, which conveys time pressure even though live timers aren't reliable across clients. The automation fires on day eleven of a fourteen-day trial and personalizes the name plus the usage proof ('6 dashboards, 3 data sources') that reminds the user what they've already built.
The decision is driven by a side-by-side two-tier pricing block: a neutral Starter card and a highlighted, bordered Pro card with a 'Popular' badge, each listing three crisp benefits and its own CTA. Anchoring the choice as Starter-vs-Pro rather than upgrade-vs-cancel lifts both conversion and average plan value, and a reassurance line ('your data is kept safe for 30 days') removes the loss-aversion objection.
The pricing cards are presentation tables with inline styles and a .stack rule that stacks them vertically on mobile while keeping the Pro card's accent border, and the .cd rule shrinks the countdown digits so the row never overflows. The dashboard hero is a curl-verified Unsplash photo with alt text, the preheader spells out 'trial ends in 3 days' for inbox urgency, and every CTA is a bulletproof high-contrast button.
